Playground Update

We were successful in our phase one fundraising campaign and have now raised £80k. We secured support from 55 of the 83 businesses & individuals we approached. The orders have been placed with Playdale and Shap Quarry. We expect installation in April with reopening in early May.

The dismantling and removal of obsolete equipment will commence in February.

We will start major phase two fundraising shortly, with the goal of raising £40k, to complete the playground appeal. This phase seeks to raise half of the money from grant applications.

Additionally, the SVA trustees agreed at their January meeting to proceed with scoping and costing a conceptual design for a Pumptrack facility to be located near the river corner of the recreational field. Once a proposal has been created, it will be considered by SVA’s trustees and be the subject of community consultation. Any Pumptrack development will need planning permission. This project would require significant fundraising but would qualify for grant funding.
