New Pickleball Sessions Serve Up Fun and Fitness at Staveley Village Hall

Staveley Village Association is proud to announce the launch of regular pickleball sessions at Staveley Village Hall, giving locals the opportunity to play one of the UK’s fastest growing sports in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Pickleball is a fun and sociable racket sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. The sessions are open to all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to more experienced players, and all equipment including nets, paddles and balls is provided on site, making it easy for anyone to come along and take part.

A spokesperson for Staveley Village Association said that “Pickleball is easy to learn but quickly becomes addictive, and that the new sessions are a great way for people to stay active, meet others and enjoy something new within the local community”

This initiative has been coordinated and supported by two volunteer community members with a passion for the sport, whose enthusiasm has helped bring pickleball to Staveley.

The sessions take place at Staveley Village Hall, with regular weekly times available on Staveley Village association’s website at https://thesva.org/pickleball. Organisers hope the activity will continue to grow in popularity locally, reflecting the rapid rise of pickleball across the UK.

A limited time lunchtime offer is running from March - April in the hope to encourage staff in the area to take a break from their desks and enjoy a game in their lunch breaks. For more information Click here.
