Playground update.

We previously issued an update on the 24th July and having met with United Utilities yesterday, we are now in a position to provide a further update.

Murphy’s who are United Utilities contractor has essentially completed the installation of the pipework through the playground and reinstated the ground to a level condition.  In the next week they will reinstate all boundary fencing, check all walls are secure and remove all sight infrastructure apart from the Hera’s fencing around the perimeter.

Once all of Murphy’s infrastructure has been removed, they will conduct a thorough review of the existing playground equipment and surfaces.  Which will allow us to determine what needs repair or replacement.

The plan is for Playdale, to install the new equipment and play surfaces during October.  It is difficult to say at this stage when this work will be complete given the challenges of Autumn weather and without knowing the extent of resurfacing that may be needed.  We provisionally indicated the Playground would be open on Monday 2nd November and this is still our target.  A further update will be issued once the timetable becomes clearer.

With regards to the Pavilion, UU and Murphy’s will vacate their use of the Pavilion at the end of October.  We plan to restart the hire of the Pavilion from Wednesday 4th November.
