Pickleball Makes a Smashing Debut at Staveley Village Hall

On Thursday 25 September, Staveley Village Hall welcomed its first pickleball taster sessions, held on newly marked courts.

The response was fantastic. Across the day, people of all ages came, Some of the attendees tried the sport for the very first time, while a group of seven experienced players booked a two-hour slot, they now hope to make a weekly fixture.

Morning sessions gave new players a gentle introduction, while the evening slots were full of energy with 11 fresh faces picking up paddles. Several more have already asked about future sessions, family bookings, and the possibility of a regular club day.

The buzz around pickleball is clear with strong interest, smiling faces, and plenty of ideas. Staveley Village Hall looks set to become a new home for this exciting sport.

A big thank you goes to the volunteers who have coordinated and encouraged this new sporting activity in Staveley Village. We are delighted to see so much enthusiasm already, and excited to watch pickleball grow as part of village life.
